The future of Human Resources in Australia: Are you taking the right steps for the future?

The future of Human Resources in Australia: Are you taking the right steps for the future? - 2023 - Wattsnext Group

It’s becoming more and more evident that the human resource profession is growing rapidly. Research conducted by Deloitte Access Economics found that the human resource profession within Australia is expected to grow by 2.3% annually between 2016 and 2022.

This is a huge number compared to the 1.5% increase that is expected in the overall Australian workforce.

Technology like AI has the ability to disrupt the most advanced cognitive jobs within the medical, legal and engineering professions.

Human Resource departments will need to be actively identifying roles that may be made redundant and placing a focus on cross-training employees across departments. Human resource professionals now and in the future will need to think about how they can bring value to issues they are responsible for.

Whats does this mean for you?

Recently the Australian Human Resource Institute conducted a survey and found that close to 30% of it’s member’s held a masters degree and that half of them feel they need to do further study to help them prepare for the future changes to the workplace environment.

What do you think? Are you prepared for the future changes in your business in automated systems and advanced technologies? Do you require further study to better prepare yourself for the changes within the human resources sector?
