With their Head Office in the USA, Anteris has an office in Brisbane (QLD) and their manufacturing facility in Malaga (WA). They have been moving from strength to strength and recently received confirmation of the excellent performance status of their product.

About the role

As they continue to grow, a vacancy for an experienced Head of Operations has become available. This key role will be reporting to the VP Technical Operations & Development and providing operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team of 25 staff in Malaga ensuring that the Site is operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee resourcing and workflow management
  • Optimise systems and processes
  • Provide monthly operational reports to the executive team
  • Drive continuous improvement, safety, and quality

Financial Performance:

  • Prepare and manage the operational budget
  • Ensure financial performance meets or exceeds set targets
  • Assist with demand forecast planning
  • Analyse financial results and make recommendations for improvement

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all aspects of the site operations, processes and procedures are compliant with the relevant safety regulations
  • Ensure the ongoing accreditation and compliance of the Site
  • Lead and coordinate the site safety committee
  • Ensure appropriate systems and processes are in place in respect of the quality system

Key skills, experience, and attributes

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications (Science or Engineering)
  • Experience leading a team in a medical device and/or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in cGMP and GLP for medical devices
  • Experience introducing continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN/Six-Sigma)
  • Experience with budgeting and financial analysis
  • Ability to establish solid internal and external relationship
  • Proven business acumen
  • Ability to actively resolve issues in a proactive and timely manner
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and flexible hours
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft software, (MS Office, MS Project, Adobe)
  • Post graduate business qualification desirable (MBA)
