Outsource Institute is a Brisbane based Registered Training Organisation that believes in the value and integrity of a quality education, having been in operation for over 22 years in Australia. They specialise in the training and assessment of nationally accredited and non-accredited business and engineering programs ranging from Certificate II to Advanced Diploma. Their customised engineering advanced trade qualifications are aimed at upskilling workforces and individuals to enable them to be formally recognised within their chosen industry, nationally or globally. 

They are currently seeking a skilled Trainer & Assessor to deliver Advanced Diploma of Engineering programs to international students. The successful applicant will be based at their Eight Mile Plains office and will report to the Compliance and Training Coordinator. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Providing pro-active support to students (academic and course–related advice to students) 
  • Delivering engaging classroom-based training using a variety of learning methods including lessons, discussions, workshops 
  • Using teaching aids such as multimedia and computer tutorials, visual aids and handbooks
  • Sharing your industry experiences 
  • Carrying out assessments 
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progression 
  • Administration and record keeping 
  • Scheduling and tracking communication with students 
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities including moderation/validation
  • Create and maintain training flows – when required 
  • Actively participate in areas such as curriculum development, implementation, and review 
  • Assess students and provide constructive and timely feedback 
  • Participate in, and contribute to assessment validation 
  • Providing academic and course–related advice to students
  • Maintaining records of students’ progress and attendance 
  • Maintain, modify and or develop learning resources, session plans and assessment tools as required 
  • Ensuring compliance against the VET Quality Framework and organisations policies and procedures 

Key skills, experience and attributes: 

  • RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design 
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher (or equivalent) 
  • National Police Check 
  • Current drivers’ licence and own vehicle
