Have you checked that you are not underpaying your employees?

The Fair Work commission has agreed to raise the minimum wage by another 3.5% as of July the 1st 2018 in addition to a 3.3% increase at the same time 12 months ago. At wattsnext we have seen our clients and SME’s in our network get caught out with a significant 6.8% increase to the minimum wage in Australia in just 12 months. Businesses that have traditionally paid well above their applicable Awards, have unintentionally slipped below in recent times. Often the flow on to staff entitlements, meal allowances and other entitlements can be missed and result in significant back pay situations.

We have seen businesses with collective agreements that refer to rates being a % increase above minimum wage getting caught out.
