Ben and Anita attended the March Queensland Leader event held at Brisbane City Hall.
As usual, we spent the initial part of the night mentoring a couple of businesses as part of the Expert Mentoring Sessions. Being a Queensland Leaders industry expert means that each month we get to share our experience, small business knowledge and practical advice with awesome people. In fact, we get to meet business owners and managers, listen to their stories, challenges and dreams and always leave with some additional insights and real experiences from the SME’s world!
This time we had the pleasure to discuss the interesting journey (almost 70 years long!) of one of the many small-medium manufacturing successes in SEQL. With 5 acquisitions over the past 6 years and many more to come, Marsh Alliance is definitely in a strong position!
We also spent time talking to John who started Abingdon in 2019. He explained how the finance industry has seen a lot of change and how the shortage of talent is impacting his business.
Finally, we caught up with clients, friends and wine at the networking event that follows the mentoring sessions. We love this event where laughter is never missing, some light-hearted (and really good) advice is readily available and some new ideas are always generated.
The monthly events leave us energised each time and we can’t wait to replicate in a few weeks’ time!
