Stop being the bottleneck, start being the amplifier

Hello!

I asked a founder last week: “What’s your biggest constraint to growth?

Expected answer: “Capital” or “market conditions” or “talent.”

Actual answer: “Me. I’m the constraint.”

Finally, some honesty.

watts not working: The superhero CEO syndrome where founders believe:

  • Everything important must go through them
  • Their involvement automatically makes things better
  • Being needed equals being valuable
  • Working harder is the same as working smarter

watts really happening: Most founders are accidentally capping their business growth at their personal capacity.

You become the lid on your own jar.

When every decision needs your input, every strategy needs your approval, every client issue needs your attention—you’re not leading growth, you’re limiting it.

The math is brutal: One person can only do so much, no matter how talented or dedicated.

watts working: Force multiplier CEOs are obsessed with a different question:

How do I make everyone around me 10x more effective?

They’re:

  • Building systems that work without their constant supervision
  • Creating decision frameworks so others can make quality choices independently
  • Investing in their team’s capabilities rather than just their own productivity
  • Measuring success by what happens when they’re NOT in the room

watts the real game changer: Stop asking “How can I do more?

Start asking “How can I enable more?

Because your job isn’t to be the hardest working person in your business.

Your job is to be the person who makes everyone else’s work exponentially more powerful.

That’s the difference between addition and multiplication.

And multiplication is how you scale.

Have a week of amplified impact!
