Hi,

I’m away most of April. Travel with family (working while everyone’s asleep). An entrepreneurs conference where I grow and learn. Then working alongside my Spain team in person.

I get told all the time that I work too much, shouldn’t work so hard. Then I get told I’m always traveling, always on vacation. Then I’m told I need more personal time, should socialise more. Then I’m told I’m always out networking.

Yes. I am. That’s the life I created.

watts not working: Apologising for the entrepreneurial life we chose because other people don’t understand it.

People see the travel and think “vacation.” They don’t see me working at 5am before my family wakes up. They see the networking events and think “fun.” They don’t see the strategic conversations that turn into partnerships that create jobs.

They want us to fit into their definition of “normal” when we specifically chose not to be normal.

watts really happening: We didn’t start businesses to have work/life balance. We started them to make our mark, on our terms.

My privilege is that my clients are fellow entrepreneurs, just like me. We go through the same business challenges. We understand the same impossible decisions. We know what it feels like to carry the weight of other people’s livelihoods.

When they win, I feel it in my bones like it’s my own victory. When they’re struggling, I lose sleep too.

watts working: Entrepreneurs who embrace the beautiful chaos instead of apologising for it.

Is it hard? Absolutely. We push hard for three months, then take time off without asking permission. We have sleepless nights before big pitches, but we get the rush when we land major clients. We put everything on the line for a dream because we’d rather bet on ourselves than someone else’s vision.

When we build successful businesses, we create jobs, solve problems, and make the world better. When my clients achieve their goals, they employ more people, serve more customers, and generate more economic value.

That’s not just work. That’s purpose with a business model.

Hard is nothing compared to not being fulfilled and not making an impact. I’d rather live this hard-working beautiful chaos than someone else’s definition of balanced.
